Our school follows the guidelines and teaching method of the International Shiatsu School of Graz (I.S.S.Ö.) Its main aims are to popularize shiatsu by getting the widest range of people acquainted with its bases and approach, and to train and qualify people as shiatsu therapists. In Hungary shiatsu is an officially recognized teaching activity. After finishing the school course, those who want to be able to legally engage in the practice of Shiatsu must take an exam given by in the ETI, Egészségügyi Szakképző- és Továbbképző Intézet (Institution for Medical Higher Education). (The exam is offered only in Hungarian.)
The founder and lead teacher of the school is Eszter Madocsai, a therapist recognized by the Austrian Parent Organization for Shiatsu (Österreichischer Dachverband für Shiatsu). She earned an international degree in 1997 from the International Shiatsu School (I.S.S.Ö.) in Graz, and she completed her teacher training at the shiatsu school of Graz in 2001-2002 where her teachers were Thomas Prett and Christian Schnabl. She earned a degree for alternative movement and massage therapist in 1999 at the institution ETI (Egészségügyi Szakképző- és Továbbképző Intézet) in Hungary. She is a national expert and examiner of the ETI in the department of AMM (Alternative Movement and Massage). She has eleven years experience in shiatsu therapy and has given shiatsu courses for seven years. She speaks english and german. Since 2002, the teachers of the school of Graz have frequently been invited to teach in the International School of Budapest in the third and fourth semester. The school operates in the XI district in Budapest, at Budafoki street 9-11. I/2. near to the Hotel Gellért. There are places for bicykles in the curtilage.

DO-IN The "Do-in" is a type of self-massage. It is a technique that helps restore the harmony of our energy-circulation. The Do-in consists of long kept movements, breathing exercises, stretching and self massage. The purpose of all of these is to harmonize the circulating life energy in our body (which, in Japanese, is called "ki") The exercises are easy and can be practiced by all ages. Doing them regularly improves our body-consciousness; we can achieve better resistance to illness, stress, frustration; and it helps us to solve our problems by helping us to concentrate better, and to rest. It helps us to solve our problems easier and to concentrate better and to rest. Every Monday and Thursday Eszter Madocsai gives a Do-in course from 18:00 to 19:15 p.m.Nemzetközi Shiatsu Iskola TREATMENTS In the same location with school there is a shiatsu therapist centre at XI. Budafoki út 9-11. Each treatment lasts 60 minutes. Comfortable cotton clothes should be worn, and an appointment for the treatment is necessary. TRAININGS
The shiatsu education starts with a basic seminar of 30 hours (one weekend), which prepares the participant to be able to give a full shiatsu treatment. It takes four semesters to complete the entire training course with each semester including 140 class hours. The curriculum follows the International Shiatsu Schools' well established western European tradition of shiatsu training. The courses are given in the Hungarian language, but an interpreter can be provided for those who do not speak Hungarian.
